Get Toned with Nike Training Club

I found Nike Training Club about 6 months ago. I’m being totally serious, albeit slightly dramatic, when I say NTC is the best thing to happen to my fitness in the past year. You can read more gushing here and here. It’s full of great workouts and allows me to use my own tunes, craft a workout that supports my fitness goals, and workout anywhere. It’s awesome.

In the most recent NTC app update, NTC added Training Programs which are customizable based on the user’s goals. This is a great way to for athletes to incorporate a self-managed training plan, accountability, and realistic goal setting to their fitness plan. Here’s how it works:

First, you choose from three programs – Get Lean, Get Toned and Get Strong.

From there, you choose your level: beginner, intermediate, advanced

Next, you have the option to integrate running into the program to increase your results.

Finally, your customized Training Program is ready.

The Training Program queues up the workouts in a weekly format. You can access the workouts right in the Training Program and your progress is tracked there too.

This week, I started the intermediate Get Toned program with running. I am excited to try Get Lean and Get Strong, but felt like Get Toned aligned best with my current goals. The program specifies workouts five days per week, with two rest days, making it realistic and allowing for the flexibility to include workouts outside of the program too. On a weekly basis, the program has me doing yoga one day, running two/three days and using NTC workouts three days.

I’m excited to see what the Get Toned program has in store these next four weeks. I look forward to seeing the results too – hoping to notice more definition all over.

Have you done one of the NTC Training Programs?

Oh, and Happy Spring!

    Hi Natalie!

I did everything up there. My question is, how does the app determine that you’ve finished each step/workout for the program?

Like in the last image, there is 0 minutes, how does that work? Thank you!
