My Go-To Salad Dressings

A good salad dressing is worth more than gold. At least, that’s what I say. And if it were true, I’d be rich. Because my salad dressing game is on point.

I like simple dressings. Light, with few ingredients and just a tad bit sweet. All are an variation on an amazing dressing I’ve tasted in a friend’s kitchen or restaurant.

Here are a few of my go-to dressings…

Honey Mustard Vinaigrette

Combine ingredients in a jar and shake. Keeps well for a week or so.

  • 2 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/3 cup olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 1 T apple cider vinegar

Lemon and Garlic Vinaigrette

Combine ingredients in a jar and shake. Keeps well for a week or so.

  • juice of 1 lemon (about 1/4 cup)
  • 1/3 cup of olive oil
  • 1 fresh garlic clove, pressed (shortcut: use a dash of garlic infused olive oil instead)
  • sea salt and red pepper flakes to taste

Champagne Vinaigrette

Combine ingredients in a jar and shake. Keeps well for a week or so.

  • 1/4 cup of champagne vinegar
  • 1 T honey
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • sea salt and ground pepper to taste

Balsamic Vinaigrette

Combine ingredients in a jar and shake. Keeps well for a week or so.

  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar (reduced if you have time)
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • sea salt and ground pepper to taste

Occasionally I divert from those dressings to keep things fresh. Here are a few other recipes I’ve loved from books and around the web:
