Today I put a wrap on two and a half weeks of travel. With all of this time away from home, I have had to come up with some good exercise solutions that don’t require gym equipment and work anywhere. And, while going for a run is usually an easy solution, I’m still keeping the running to a minimum.
I got my sweat on 12 of my 16 days of traveling, thanks to a few favorite apps and a yoga mat. Since the days were fun-filled, getting the workout done first thing in the morning was my best bet. Here are a few of my go-to workouts:
- 20/30 minute HIIT workout via Nike Training Club. Some of my favorites are: Metabolic Kick HIT (Get Focused), Fast + Fierce (Get Lean), The Heartthrob (Get Lean)
- 30-60 minutes of yoga via YogaGlo.com. These flows have been on repeat the past few weeks: Strong Sweaty Flow, Quick Go-To Flow, Straight Forward Flow, Strong Lower Body Flow, Wake Up and Flow
- 3 mile jog
- Lots and lots and lots of swimming
While we were in Mexico (without kids) I had more time to myself and was able to pair some of these combinations together – walk and/or HIIT followed by 30 minutes of yoga.
While the workouts could have been longer or more intense (if I had been using weights) the goal was maintaining consistency in my daily exercise, even when in Vacation Mode. This week I’m back home and looking forward to getting back to the gym equipment and cycle studio to pick up the intensity.
