Whole30, shall we?

Talk to me about Whole30, guys.

Talk to me about Whole30, guys.

Isaac and I are looking to reset our systems a bit. Nothing is terribly out of whack, but it has been our habit to detox periodically. We have both noticed that limiting our diet (no sugar, no grains, no dairy) for weeks at a time brings tremendous benefits and healing. That being the case, I have not detoxed in the past three years. So, I am due for a reset.

My main objective is to bring my system (metabolism, hormones, cravings, digestion) into balance. Isaac has his reasons, not too dissimilar from mine. The plan we used in the past was good, but I am considering a new program this time around.

Raise your hand if you have heard about Whole30. Several people I know have completed or are in the process of completing the program. From what I have heard and read, it seems to fit what we are looking for – “a short-term nutritional reset, designed to help you put an end to unhealthy cravings and habits, restore a healthy metabolism, heal your digestive tract, and balance your immune system.”

I would love to hear from those with Whole30 experience, or an alternative nutritional reset program you would recommend.

What was your biggest take away?

Anything you learned along the way that would be helpful for a rookie?

Favorite recipe?

How did you go 30 days without a glass of wine? Kidding.

I’m not too familiar with Whole30, but I’m curious about what benefits and healing you and Isaac got from eliminating grains, sugar and dairy.

Isaac always (every single time) feels better when he eliminates sugar and dairy and grains. His chronic sick feeling mellows out a bit.

I find myself having less cravings, zero bloated tummy issues, and generally more stable moods.

Have you ever excluded sugar or dairy or grains from your diet for a time?
